I've been meaning to post pictures of C--surprise, surprise--and just haven't gotten around to it--um, surprise, surprise. But last night, something momentous happened. Something incredible.
C slept for over six hours straight.
We've been marveling that she's already one month old (the official marker was Saturday) and how much she's grown. She's been awake for longer periods, turning her head to see who's talking to her, waving her hand in front of her face. I think she's even attempted a few real smiles. She's even started breaking out on her face, a less desirable sign that she's getting older and reached the few-week-old stage. But the sleep last night really confirmed it: C is no longer a newbie newborn (and all of you parents out there will understand the linguistic distinction). No newbie newborns sleep that long. And I should clarify: no breastfeeding moms sleep that long, either. Which is why C slept for over six hours and didn't hit seven, which she might have, except her mom dragged her out of bed. In my defense, my entire right side was numb for reasons which I won't detail (and all of you breastfeeding moms will understand). Nevertheless, I was very glad she slept as long as she did!
Just a bit ago we put her down for some tummy time, so here's a little video and some pictures of C showing her stuff at one month!
