She.

Isn't she a beauty? I know you Grandmas will disagree. :)
Well, it's official: the newest life in the Olson clan is a GIRL! She's kicking me as I type this; interpret that as you will. Feisty? Naturally Vivacious? Inclined to motion? Knows instinctively when she's the center of attention? :)

Papa and I and the two boys waited patiently during the ultrasound this morning for the Big Moment... which came a little later than we expected (re: boys were at the cusp--not moment, thankfully--of meltdown). The sonographer told us the baby was butt-down, so no visual confirmation that way. I had to do some acrobatics, and then Baby turned... only to end up with the umbilical cord and then a hand, respectively, covering the important area. Just call her Ms. Modesty. But thankfully the sonographer got official confirmation--"See those three lines?" she says to Papa and I, and I'm thinking, "We don't actually know anything about what you're telling us--thanks for trying, but we'll believe you if you make some Official Proclamation. Really. So just tell us!"--I saw the words "IT'S A GIRL!!!" appear on the screen nanoseconds before the sonographer repeated them, and instantly I was in disbelief and tears. I was prepared for a boy--and then God surprised me, again.

Anyway, we're thrilled--tickled pink? :)--and are so thankful that Baby C. is healthy and doing well. What a miracle to see her today. What a miracle to know who she is and to call her by name!

Those of you who know--now isn't that an Elsea nose? :)

Girl Power!

She's amazing! There is no doubt that is an Elsea nose. I think she looks like Charles M. That's good, because he looks like Charles H., and Charles H. looks like Clara, and Clara was a beautiful lady inside and out. And now I'm all teary-eyed. :)

We knew that this baby would be as cute as #1 and #2, but this little peanut is spectacular. A delicate little rosebud, but not afraid to flaunt that girl power! God Bless little C. and her mommy and daddy.

I can't wait to see pictures of her! I'm sure she'll be just like her momma--a wonderful friend and person and a beautiful addition to the world. What wonderful possibilities await her as she makes her own way in this world! Congrats, congrats, congrats and best wishes and prayers for the remainder of your pregnancy.

You all are just terrific! And I have to say--a little bit of me combined with a little bit of Papa (that's Elsea and Olson, plus all the other last names/maiden names included in there) means C's going to be just the perfect combination! :)
